Mindfulness Tools: Bracelets
Every moment is an opportunity to practice mindfulness. Bringing your awareness and intention to task, even the most mundane one, can help you become a bit more centered and grounded. I am a highly visual person and have little "reminders" scattered throughout my day to serve as a mindfulness tool to reset my thinking and to remind me to seek love. The reminders take many forms but are all quick and oh so effective.
One mindfulness tool I use is my jewelry. I wear a big and clanky stack of bracelets on my left arm which each serve as a reminder. My grandmother collected many of these bracelets while traveling the globe. I love looking down and seeing a little bit of Japan, Russia, Africa, Indonesia and Nepal (to name a few) and a whole lot of my sweet grandmother's love. I view the bracelets and am transported to a different place. I am reminded of my roots- where I have come from and where I am going. I look at the mix of colors, styles and sizes and appreciate the craftsmanship. I offer deep gratitude for experiences and those I love. I see beauty in the artistry and smile.
My grandmother passed her love of exploring to me and I add to the bracelet collection when I travel. One day, I will pass the bracelets to my daughter and perhaps she will use the same beloved pieces as a mindfulness tool of her own.
