One Small Shift: Look Up
We live super busy lives and seem to constantly fly from one thing to the next. There is an enormous amount of pressure to do more and be better and all of this pressure can make it a challenge to stay present. As moms, we have plates piled terrifically high and it is super tempting to focus on what comes next: the next developmental stage for baby, the next thing that you have to do, what the weather is going to be like tomorrow, what you are going to eat for dinner...constant future tripping.
Recently, a dear friend sent me a picture like the one above with a sweet comment that her baby sleeping in his stroller presented an opportunity to notice the beautiful sky. Nice, right?
This got me thinking about how lovely it is to simply look up. While walking to the car with a buggy full of groceries; look up. When leaving work and walking (or running, whatever your style) to your car; look up. Checking your mailbox; look up. The sky is always there and taking one moment to soak in the beauty is a powerful practice available to us all.
Look up and see what wonders greet the eye.
