Perfect Present
I sit rocking my baby gently to sleep. It's a full hour later than her typical bedtime, I'm hungry and have a mountain of laundry to conquer, yet the moment is perfect. This is the same chair where I sat every single day when pregnant and meditated with her in mind. I visualized her birth. I imagined holding her in my arms. Now, I kiss on her soft head as she sighs and dances off into dreamland. Chop, chop, chop as my husband preps our dinner in the kitchen. My dog twitches beside me as he snores softly. In this moment, this exact moment in time, everything is perfect. Thank you.
Life is challenging and we've all already established that this mama thing is hard, truly hard. Gratitude is the fastest path to abundance. Your heart swells with pride as your youngest bravely rides down the street on his bike. Thank you. Time stands still when watching your children splash in the tub sending bubbles soaring. Thank you. Your heart melts when you see your husband holding your firstborn. Thank you. That first precious baby smile which arrives at exactly the right moment. Thank you. Your two wild ones quietly reading a book on the sofa, completely mezmerized. Thank you.
Perfectly imperfect and yet perfectly perfect, I offer gratitude for it all.
