Fill Your Cup: Advice from Some Amazing Mamas

Fill Your Cup: Advice from Some Amazing Mamas

Self care is so important in every season of life, however it becomes vitally important when you become a mom. It's so easy to get stretched thin and have emotions running high. Acts of self care can take many forms and don't necessarily require a lot of time. I'm learning about this daily and so today's post comes courtesy of some seriously veteran glow-y mamas. Here's what they have to say about filing their cups <3.

  • It has to be deliberate and nonjudgemental. Time alone, a leisurely shower + primping, yoga, connecting with people I love, keeping it real with other mamas, gardening, being outside, a good solo Target stroll, a mildly ambitious project, creating a space at home that is both comfortable and functional, counseling. <3 Sarah, mama to a sweet daughter
  • After 6 years of wanting to make it happen, I finally signed up for my first trapeze class! Not feeling guilty- somebody once told me it's a useless emotion. Finding and trusting in a good babysitter for regular date nights. Being ok with being different, not all parents look the same and that's ok because not all kids are the same. <3 Monira, mama to two darling daughters
  • 10 sun salutations a day! Keeping up with household stuff is also key. <3 Sarah, mama to a precious boy and an adorable little girl
  • I recharge with yoga, time with friends, reading, hanging with my support team (massage, therapy), exercise and totally zoning out to the TV every once in a while. <3 Alice, mama to two darling girls.
  • Self care and a supportive tribe are key for me. Getting rid of guilt has been an incredible challenge. I had to really learn that comparison was the thief of joy. I try to be aware of when my cup runs low but having self companion and self love have been my life struggles. <3 Rosy, mama to two (with a third on the way) adorable boys and step-mom to 3 sweet kiddos.

What are some of the ways that you fill your cup? It can be something simple and small or something big, as long as it makes you feel good.
